2023 års internationella Adamson-vinnare Trina Robbins fanns inte på bokmässan i Göteborg i september för att ta emot sitt pris. För att verkställa överlämnandet sände därför Serieakademin sin ledamot Zara Blidevik till San Francisco den 1 mars. Olyckligtvis var Trina indisponibel den dagen, men statyetten togs i stället emot av sambon Steve Leialoha, själv mångfaldigt prisbelönad serietecknare för bland annat Marvel och DC.
